Putative pheromones sold as supplements
04-07-2011 11:16 AM

I think I need to get some dropper bottles ready and give these tasty nuggets a day in court...

By the way, all the molecular weights on these are in the 300-350 range; should be plenty good for pheromonal activity. There have already been some positive reports on DHEA and Pregnenolone in the past. I never heard of 7-keto DHEA before today but apparently it is a metabolite of DHEA. Androstenetrione is a precursor of testosterone -- and I think a metabolite of pregnenolone but I could be wrong about that.

And woo-ah, want to talk about cost effectiveness? At 100mg per capsule, each capsule will yield a 10mg/mL vial for less than a buck.

Are these supplements or something for weight/muscle gain? Do they work as pheromones on the skin?
And isn’t pregnalone a female hormone, just searched for it and it said it

“is a steroid hormone involved in the steroidogenesis of progesterone, mineralocorticoids, glucocorticoids, androgens, and estrogens. As such it is a prohormone. Pregnenolone sulfate [1] is a GABAA antagonist and increases neurogenesis in the hippocampus”

Neurogenisis results in growth of neurons (receptors) in the brain. The hypocampus is our memory recal center I believe. So would it be safe to assume that it would make memory recall of present events much more vivid?

sorry im not too good on all the scientific mumbo jumbo. Undecided

A lot of people do use these as supplements (which is why they're sold that way), but they also meet the basic description of putative pheromone molecules -- small, lightweight steroids. That's not to say they'll work, but they realistically could.

Both DHEA and Prenenolone have been reported on as pheromones in the past, I think by Tisha. I'll dig up the links when I'm at a real computer. DHEA was compared to TAA and pregnenolone was compared to P102/P103.

So I've ordered some bottles of each of these, and will dissolve the contents of one capsule of each into fractionated coconut oil to create a concentrate. Then a drop or two in a sprayer with fixative and alcohol will yield exactly the type of test kit we've all become accustomed to Smile

I'll let you know how it goes! I hope some others join in!

I compiled some previous reports on pregnenolone in this thread: http://pherotruth.org/Thread-Pregnenolone--4569.

Wow, man, you've gotta love Amazon Prime -- My DHEA and 7-keto DHEA both arrived today already!

One thing that hadn't really occurred to me when I ordered them was that even though they are just powder in capsules, the manufacturers still add a little rice flour and silica into the powder so that it flows easily through their machinery.

I've mixed 100mg of 7-keto DHEA into 10mL of FCO, and after heating and agitating for about a half hour I'm thinking those extras are not going to fully dissolve in the oil.

So, I think I'll give it a day or two of periodic shaking to make sure the steroid is entirely dissolved, and then run the mixture through a coffee filter to remove the schmutz.

Anybody see any problems with that plan, or have any advice?

Oh, one other thing; if anyone else is doing this, I recommend that you resist the urge to sniff the powder at full strength. It's very strong! Hunter

While waiting for my 10mg/mL 7-keto DHEA oil to drip through its filter, I grabbed a snack and went looking for some info on this molecule. Turns out it may be worth trying as a supplement as well.

Animal studies have found improved thermogenesis and memory formation, and human studies have found no toxicity, mutagenicity, or other side effects.

It's safer than supplementing DHEA because it doesn't affect sex hormone levels.

Here's a pretty good article - http://uimc.discoveryhospital.com/main.p..._to_take_d

Here's an even better article about the current research on 7-Keto supplementation: http://www.lef.org/magazine/mag2005/may2...eto_01.htm

It also mentions that 7-Keto is excreted in both sweat and urine. Good potential for pheromonal activity with this one, I'm looking forward to testing it.

Haha I love these little chats we have Laugh2

I came across this post from JVK about some publications on DHEA and its metabolites and their relationship to waist-to-height ratio as a factor in attraction. James speculates: "Metabolites of DHEA that are associated with the WHR might convey the olfactory/pheromonal information that elicits hormonal changes associated with visual input and the WHR during the development of WHR preferences. My co-authors and I proposed this explanation in Kohl et al (2001)..."

As you'll notice from the review posted above, 7-keto appears to be the primary metabolite which relates DHEA to metabolic rate and body composition! This could be what JVK and his co-authors were looking for in 2001.

dbot, one word
Centrifuge
Looking for one on ebay now. Insteal of selling pill, Centrifuge the supplement in 1 ml of PA. Then sell to the form (of course at a profit, but much less then AD). How many people would try one time without a money back, no crying policy. Cool
