Changing the color of a solution

I am testing some new putatives. I am not a scientist or a chemist. I am dissolving various substances myself.

One of these putatives is brown and stains my app points.

So here is my question how do you change the color of the liquid to clear?

Without getting overly complicated with the mechanics of color (which I'm hazy on anyway), the only way you're gonna see a change is to change the molecule. Sometimes adding or removing a proton can do this, forming a salt or free base/acid; an adduct could work, too. May I ask what you're testing that's brown?

You may ask....

Actually, I am frustrated by the lack of forward progress in the pheromone world.

Most companies are using the same 5 or 6 (A-Androsterone, B-Androsterone, Androstenone, Alpha Androstenol, Beta Androstenol and Androstadienone ) ingredients in most of their formulas. There are well over 40 chemicals known to have pheromone properties.

Don't get me wrong, I just have not seen too many innovations in this industry. The use of Silicone and the use of gels are 2 major innovations but they are being used by only 2 out of the 23 companies on this board.

I really miss the days when Chris from Alpha Dreams would mass test a molecule and then post the results.

Dbot used to test possible putatives and post his results.

I'm not a scientist or a Vendor. I just want something that works.

I really am tired of spending hundreds of dollars on so-so and half working products.

Thanks for the help. The chemistry involved in color changing is making my head spin.

I'm not even trying to save money. It's just that I don't want to buy products (containing EST) that will guarantee that I will be put in the friendzone.

There are 23 companies here many of which have 6-10 products each. That's alot of products. I just want something that makes the women melt. Some come close.

I think that there is "something" that all vendors formulas are missing so I continue to test.

Is the molecule brown or is it mixed with something that is brown. If the color is an impurity you can remove the impurity.

The molecule/putative is brown. It stains the skin similar to henna. I dissolve it in PA and when I spray it on it leaves a brown stain on my app points.

It has some potential. I can't test it the way that I want to because it leaves a brown stain on my app points.

50 micrograms is very potent for a phero dose. 1-5 mcg is about average. Some things work at .01mcg. If the active ingredient is actually what's doing the staining then you're probably using WAY too much.

Huh? Where and when did I mention how much I was wearing. I don't see it in this thread.

I'm not wearing 50 micrograms.

I didn't say you were. I assumed you'd have to have a reasonably decent quantity of the stuff to stain your skin, though. Even methylene blue diluted down to 1mcg/drop is very nearly clear.

I was testing the substance and observing the effects but:

1. I cant wear it on my neck because of the staining.

2. I'm not even sure of how good it's working but preliminary tests are promising.

3. The staining is noticeable on wrists & clothes (now that I think about it I could probably wear it under my shirt but then I have to think about diffusion).

4. I'm not a chemist but maybe I could send some to a lab to have it done .

1. How much are you using, and how did you measure the dosage?

2. Have you considered 1ml perfume tester vials, with a small strip of absorbent material inside to keep the stuff from spilling out? You can cap them when you're not using them. It's how I use a lot of scents, so I don't get hotboxed if I sit in a car for a while.
