Unfortunately, there is some data that shows that berberine can cause DNA damage. There's not enough info to show that it doesn't, so I stopped using it.

That's not good, I wasn't aware of that. Looks like I have some more pubmed research to do.

It's unfortunate, b/c the stuff is almost miraculous with all the benefits it touts. I've really leaned out on it before, as well.

Agreed, the stuff is amazing.

Don't know how I missed the studies on dna damage though. Been reading through some of them and it seems as though they may have been giving the mice/rats a hefty dose. I could be wrong though.

On a another note, I just read that there is a possibility that it could decrease telomerase activity possibly leading to shorter telomeres.

Not looking good for berberine. Looks like I'll be stopping my use for now.

Supposedly Longvida crosses the BBB, whereas the others did not - but was expensive, and some believe it's just marketing hype. Curcumin-95 is cheaper, effective, and supposedly can cross the BBB too.
