Yeah, sorta, although most folks look a lot better with clothing!
I used to frequent nude beaches near a university town. And, oddly, had more luck meeting women there than most singles bars! I was a slender Asian guy with shoulder length hair, beard and a few pieces of jewelry. Not considered attractive by most White women. Nevertheless I was surprised at my "luck" at the friggen nude beach. Shocked in fact. Although you're butt nekid, people still quickly recognize your culture, education and other lifestyle traits by your speech, hair style, jewelry, body language, posture, hygiene, fitness, etc. Women usually assumed I was an artist or musician and, well, they were right. I really don't think clothing is the barrier in normal social situations. The barrier is in the minds of people attending them. People hanging at nude beaches tend to be more open, enlightened and educated. And they'd be that way whether you were nekid or wearing a rice sack and thong.
The only down side of the nude beach was a sunburn on a very sensitive place, rendering it useless for a couple days. Freakin' sunscreen would wash off in the ocean...
Ah don't wanna pickle...just wanna ride mah motosickle!

Ya, I've been an "official" nudest (AANR member) for years and find the barriers come down easily. You can't tell a banker from a plumber without the clothing clues.

Ya, there is that..:s

He would never wear preppy clothes not that he is against anyone else that does. If he walks into the house wearing his mechanics jumpsuit peeled off to his waist (which is what he does when its hot) and his tank top, I still get flustered to this day. Same thing when he wears leather.
Funny thing is he has no ideal. He will come into the house that way and I will say "oh sweet goddess" and he will assume I am worried he is going to sit on the furniture LOL

Ah ha ha
I could have written this about my husband. It's so true about the furniture, too.
The clothes do not make the man, or else I would have a higher opinion of people I know when they are dressing nicer than usual. I find that the opposite is true for me, I generally get irritated by people who seem to be dressing to impress. Maybe I just don't like to be overshadowed, or maybe it's because it seems sort of fake, putting it on to cloud up who they really are.
Except in certain situations:
When I am looking to retain someone's professional services, i.e. doctor, attorney, etc. then what they're wearing at that initial interview speaks volumes.

Just based on a look all by itself, with no personality factors taken into account, I feel the same way as Gegogi. It's like there's a checklist that has to be followed. When I was in school, it was all about the sweaters with the thin material turtleneck underneath and gold chain worn conspicuously around the outside of the "collar" of the turtleneck, khaki pants, and some form of boat shoe, primarily Sebagos. Every. Single. Preppy. Guy. Occasionally, the turtleneck would be replaced with a polo with requisite popped collar. Hell, I even sported the look for a time just to try to fit in. Only problem was that I lacked the snide, condescending attitude that came with the clothes.
Don't get me wrong, Bond, I'm not slapping a label or judgement on you. We're all shaped by personal experiences among other things, and it just seemed to me that attitudes generally came with a style of clothing. It was the same with the rockers with their ripped jeans and Metallica t-shirts. They had their own attitude that got obnoxious as well.
Thankfully, within two years or so of graduating, I decided the only time I needed to give a crap what I wore beyond a t-shirt and jeans was for funerals, job interviews, and Church, and in those cases it was more a desire to convey a certain respect than trying to impress individuals.
