Handshakes & application points

Hey all,
Don't know how many of you have gotten the eye on this one:
https://www.newscientist.com/article/dn2...-our-hand/
( http://elifesciences.org/content/4/e05154v1)
Since I know some of the people in the lab, they gave me a heads-up about this.. Wonderful place if any of you are thinking of a PhD in something relating to pheromones or smell by the way - full of cool people and great ideas.
Anyway - it appears people have an instinct to smell their hands after a handshake without being aware of it. Would that make the actual hands a good application point? What do you guys think?
Also - this quoted Sobel lab is starting a pilot social network called "SmellSpace" based on, well, smell. They are currently giving out small scratch books containing 12 different chemicals which you have to grade on their website. They claim they can build a "nose-fingerprint" out of this which can identify you out of millions of people. From there they match people with others with "like" sense of smell. Apparently there is some research that supports that people with a "like" sense of smell mesh well together. In addition, there is a beta part of the network that gives correlation with personality/temperament but they warned people registering for it that this is very basic as of today with statistical significance but only weak-as-of-yet correlations.
Just FYI
