Well you have to look at the situation.
If your in a bar full of drunk college chicks you can just go direct, not crass but direct an get laid. It's a numbers game.
I know plenty people who did/do this and they get laid often.
As soon as they see an IOI they approach look straight in the eyes with a half smile and say something like "Hi, your sexy and you turn me on. Ill be honest Im not looking for a relationship, but i think we could have a lot of fun together...tonight." And wait for the answer without flinching.
It still takes big balls and confidence, which we all know is attractive to women. Leave after 60mins, and repeat at another club.
Do it enough times and you'll get laid more than many others.
Simple but not easy. And beats 3 hours of palm reading and show trix.
And it really makes you stand out from the mangina crowd.

It takes you years to become good at PUA. It takes you weeks/months to become good at using pheromones. (Though also a lot of time to master them).
The main reason why PUA hasn't become much more popular, is because it is very hard, exhausting, time-consuming and stressful at times. Approach anxiety is just one difficulty.
I've been participating in a PUA forum, and if you look at the posts some guys did years ago, and what they post now, well there mostly isn't much of a change. Most guys learn a few basics, but struggle to get infield practice from doing lots of cold approaches. They will apply what they read on their social circle, but really many of those friendships/relationships are already set in stone.

'mones aren't magic, but they are MUCH easier to use than PUA.

So i'd say PUA may become more popular, but not that much, even if Hollywood features it.

This reminds me of something Paul Janka said, he brought up the fact that many guys simply aren't cut out for the PUA game, how its just easier to use some tools and "settle down" with one girl. It's so hard for most normal guys to keep up the lifestyle. Say what you want about Paul, but what he's said here is true.

Many good points were made on this thread and talking it out with you all really has helped my opinion on the matter.

I agree with the point of Paul's that you highlighted-- In some ways, I'm not even cut out for PUA in it's entirety.

Fact of the matter is I use PUA as a way to protect myself from letting a girl damage me as deeply as one of my exes did. It has had the side effect of making me much more socially successful, which maybe I praise the most of what I've obtained through it.

I don't really care about laying everyone and their mother, and actually I try to keep my "score" on the lower side.. Doesn't stop me from getting my rocks off like crazy.. But still, if something falls through with a girl, I'm not going to keep getting beat over it.

What I care about the most is success-- PUA gave me success that I desired, and I spread PUA to the people I care about, because I want them to be able to experience success in the same way.

Not everyone will bite on it.. But that can't be helped. To each their own!

PUA going mainstream though? I'm both worried and not worried. The part that doesn't make me worried is I know if PUA as we know it today is torn apart, it will evolve into something new. PUA rejects the standards of the Average Frustrated Chump. If the line is blurred too much, current tactics become obsolete to new ones that may replace them.
