RE: Pheromones and Anosmia

Possibly, possibly not. We still don't really know for sure exactly how pheromones are processed. It's pretty well agreed that it's not through the VNO, but whether they are sensed by the Olfactory Bulb, a possible Nerve Zero, some other mechanism or potentially even a combination thereof is really not known at this point.
Your best bet is to start out with a small purchase and try for yourself, and I would definitely be interested in hearing about your experiences, or reactions from whom you are targeting.
Nobody changes until the pain of staying the same becomes greater than the pain of change....
"Often people attempt to live their lives backwards: they try to have more things, or more money, in order to do more of what they want so they will be happier. The way it actually works is the reverse. You must first be who you really are, then,do what you need to do, in order to have what you want."

My bet is very strongly with mones still working, though a small fraction of the effect may be the olfactory cue. Stuff I can't smell certainly still impacts me. As Mark notes, the formal scientific opinion is strongly divided, so my beliefs are my own.
Not me (yes that WOULD be a great experiment), but my boyfriend. anosmia occurred after traumatic injury to the head in his 30s or 40s. He has a working sense of taste (lots of salt though) but smell is at absolute zero. It's hard for me to imagine, and though I was shocked, concerned, upon learning about this, he tries to play it down. Since it's such a hidden disability, there must be many (not around here, I'm sure!!) who dismiss it as not as important as the other 4 senses. Of course, I disagree.

If I decide to try it out on him - it wouldn't have good controls in the sense that I have zero experience with the use of them, but I can 'study up', try some (or enough to validate it worked/didn't) and report back.
One certainty (at least initially) is that he will definitely NOT be an informed participant.
