Well, here is a reasonable reason to name it something mysterious, eh? LOL
Technically, Pregnenolone is a prohormone which has no hormone activity in and of itself. It goes through steriogenesis in the tissues to form progesterone, or it can go through several steps to become DHEA and further steps to become testosterone.
In the brain Pregnenolone is strictly a neurosteroid which is found in very high amounts in certain parts of the brain, where it serves in memory formation and retrieval, and motivation.
As a pheromone, the effects are still being discovered. It is definitely a pheromone and is excreted in both sweat and urine. At low concentrations it has mood elevating properties. It has no anti-anxiety or anti-stress effects at any concentration. In higher concentrations it can become euphoric, but never sedating or calming. At even higher concentrations it has motivational qualities, but it can also interfere with sleep, cause agitation, and cause visual disturbances.

Excuse me ? I am not sure what you mean by that.

Thank you for your explaination Diane. I do apologize for forgetting to add Pro before the word hormone. I was just trying to have a casual conversation and not trying to express a scientific opinion. As I mentioned before I am not a scientist.

Your right we dont know much about it as a pheromone and there is not much online. I mentioned lowering (reducing) stress. Scientifically I dont know if thats the same as anti stress. In my bumpkin truck opinion I feel anything that is mood elevating lowers stress to some extent.
Focus and memory is something I read online from research Dr Eugene Roberts tested. Here is just one of the sources I read it from.

I find your mention of motivational qualities interesting, I had read this as well and it sort of reminds me of TAF or P79. I am not saying that this is what these two are but its a possiblity which is why I asked snoop to test with another pheromone he is familar with to see the results. I will try to keep my opinions to myself although it makes it hard to participate in a pheromone forum when I cant give my opinion on pheromones. I am just getting tired of having to defend every word I say. Takes the joy out of being here.
I found a few sources of Pregnenolone I trust and look forward to giving it a try again for my own personal curiosity.

Tisha,
I do wish you would not take these things so personally.
My response here is simply to clear up misinformation and to make sure that thorough and accurate information is provided. Nothing that was stated was intended to antagonize you in any way, but provided for anyone who might become interested in trying this pheromone.
The reason it is important to stress that this is pheromone has no stress reducing properties is because it may potentially aggravate existing anxiety problems in those who suffer from that. This is a GABA-A antagonist, not an agonist. Amphetamines can be mood elevating, but they are not stress reducing substances. Likewise, Pregnenolone (although it is not an amphetamine-like substance) is mood elevating, but not stress reducing.
Please feel free to add your opinions and experience to the Paradise-7 product review threads. But please also do be aware that if your information is stated in ways that may be misleading I will do what I can to clear up any misunderstanding. I do this because accuracy for the consumers is important, not because I think you are a bumpin or that your opinions do not matter.
Your theories about P79 and TAF are interesting. If you decide to try Pregnenolone and compare that with your experiences with those other two, I'm certain that the reports would be enlightening.
Diane
EDIT: Let me also add that I don't mean to downplay your feelings. Your feelings are important. But this is a product review forum and so it can't be about your feelings. I hope you can understand that, and forgive me if I inadvertently hurt your feelings with my corrections and added information.

Before I say anything I want to make very clear here that I am not taking anyone's side atv all in this... I am simply trying to clarify something....

When something is said to be mood elevating this does NOT pertain to any one mood unless the type mood is specifically mentioned. If something (a pharmacutical, chemical of any kind, atmosphere, environment, etc...) is said to be "mood elevating" without specifically menntioning a type of mood this means it will elevate ANY mood. Be it a negative mood or a positive mood. For example, if you read the label of an anti depressant and it states the drug is "mood elevating" but does not mention a specific mood then this means that it can elevate bad moods, good moods, sad moods, all of the above, etc... Some anti depressants specifically state a mood that is elevated by the drug such as "this drug may elevate negative moods in the user" etc...
Again, I'm NOT taking sides in this. I just wanted to clarify the term "mood elevating" for any members who may be confused about it's actual meaning.
I have decided to change my lifestyle. I will now live my life in such a way that when I roll out of bed every morning, the second my feet hit the ground, God and Satan will both say "Oh shit, he's awake!!!"

Its quite alright, we dont expect anyone to take a side. You make a good point that I didnt consider though. Mood elevating dosn't nessisarily mean happy or stress reducing. It depends on the mood so you could be elevating a bad mood.
