Has anyone used a violet scent with a phero mix? If so, did you notice any unusual effects (for better or worse.)

I have suspicions the two might interact, for better or worse, and I want to see if there's any merit to the hunch.

XSDM+ x2 sprays (just a-androstenol & cops)
Covered with LP, An Act of Violets which contains: Acai berry, Violet, White pepper and Clove.

Mild, subtle hits, which I didn't really expect anything over the top with something so simple. Received random acts of helpfulness... Caught a co worker spacing at me - kind of didn't seem like he realized he was until I noticed him. I thought he needed something so I asked him as much - nicely - when he started stammering was when I was sure it was a hit Big Grin

Notably, at home, the man inquired about what I had on stating that is was different, not bad, just different. aAoV is like a candied floral scent - I like a lot of foodie type stuff...he was probably wondering where the pumpkin, maple and brown sugar went Laugh1 Since I was wearing something unfamiliar he kept circling back to me, which meant more whiffs of Pheromones. He became more touchy-feely than is his normal for a time when he's getting ready to leave for work.

By today I would say:
A) the dilution of the violet was too little to be of adverse effect or
B) that it does not adversely seem to effect a-nol and cops...

I'm gong to root through my essence oils tonight. If I have a straight violet, that would be MUCH better.

I do not have violet EO I'm afraid Sad I pulled out a violet fragrance oil containing:
Top notes of lilac, carnation and jasmine.
Mid notes of violet, lily of the valley with just a hint of rose.
Light musk and powder at the base.

This was QUITE violet in scent in spite of the notes to create it. This was also a concentrated fragrance oil intended for dilution. I wore quite a bit - 5 drops - 3 to neck/chest and 2 split between wrists and backs of hands. To say I was fragrant was an understatement Laugh1 It was a bit much for almost an HOUR...That's what open windows are for....
Interestingly the smell didn't seem as much to others, my husband would have been the FIRST to tell me so. Is violet a fragrance men like? (way subjective question huh?) I'm not big on floral fragrances, so maybe I'm just more sensitive to them?

Still, violet EO would be better. Maybe I can pick some up locally in the near future...

Wore a combination of 2 sprays XS Love Boat (96mcg x2) and 2 XS Cohesion (664mcg x2):
LB: Androsterone Sulfate, DHEA, Pregnenolone
Co: AndrostaDIENONE, DHEA, Beta-AndrosteNOL, Beta-AndrostANOL, Beta-THDOC

Normal hits from others include: genuine interest in me, a desire for meaningful conversation and a kind of soft, engaged, thoughtful interaction.
Self effects: Calm, ability to articulate thoughts and emotions, genuine interest in meaningful interactions/conversations.

From husband and I having an incredible convo this morning to do with our previous experiences with the loss of family members, to an incredibly productive counseling appt., to what would normally be an unusually lengthy interaction with my mom: phero combo seemed to hit spot on in each situation.

Really large quantities of violet are supposed to be odd in terms of smell. Some of the ionones are supposed to shut down the ability to perceive the violet scent and possibly other scents. That happens with everything, but the process seems different and quicker with violets from what I've read.

Of course, there's a lot of other stuff in that mix.

I think I'm seeing something similar to what you're seeing in terms of relaxation. (And I think I got increased focus on social stimuli as well, as I would with a mone, from violet leaf extract. People reacted differently, but from far enough away that it made me wonder if my perception or posture was different. ) I'm wondering what the source of that relaxation is. It seems different than alpha nol, at least.

Do you ever get any visual brightening with violets alone as you might with DHEAS?

Do you have anything with Androstenone? How do you usually react to Androstenone? Can you smell it? How well does violet mask the scent of Androstenone or change the effect? It'd be interesting if it could reduce the stressful portion of Androstenone and the scent while leaving the other aspects intact.

Thanks for your insights. :-) I think I'm liking this note.

Thundr has beta-ionone and I just ordered alpha, beta and one other ionone. That might be helpful in isolating what's causing what here. (assuming the testing is pleasant enough on your end that you don't mind going further down this rabbit hole?)

I need to get some violet EO. I'm going to have to road trip and pick some up or order something pure. I'm dying to see how/if purity/strength effects outcome, if at all...

Not that I recall that stands out, but I will make a mental note for future reference.

I don't have it as a single but I have a blend that's alpha-Androstenol, beta-androstenone and alpha-androstenone. To me androstenone is a very pungent, stinky mone. Some floral notes or resins work fantastically to cover, but I will try violet specifically when I get the EO.

Is the other beta-dihydroionone? Just curious... Yes. To stop now would leave too many fascinating questions unanswered Mosking

Nope, not beta-dihydroionone. Here's my recent order from perfumer's world. I don't really have much understanding of the ionones besides alpha and beta ionone, but I figured since they were on offer...

I didn't get visual brightening either. But it's such a common thing with social mones I wanted to make sure I wasn't missing it.

From Perfumer's world.
>20 , x grams/units , 3IF00237, Ionone alpha-, 0.240
>30 , x grams/units , 3IF00238, Ionone beta-, 0.270
>10 , x grams/units , 6IF08388, Ionone Fruity Fleuressence TM, 0.190
>10 , x grams/units , 3IW00300, Methyl Ionone alpha-iso-, 0.21

Conundrum.
Apparently it is easier to find violet LEAF oil than it is to find the oil of the blossom thanks to the synthesization of ionone. It is in the flower that the ionones are prevalent. I've read that synthetic a & b ionone can be added to the violet leaf EO with pleasant outcome, olfactorily that is...gads...how deep the rabbit hole...
Went ahead and ordered the violet leaf EO just to check it out, just a smidge at 1/48oz, but will check out the net for a & b ionone. I suppose if you'd found a place in the US to order from you would have done so huh? Laugh1 Sometimes shipping is just a pain...I hate waiting Redface

ETA
Found an acceptable violet flower fragrance (with synthetic ionones used in creating the fragrance rather than multiple notes used to create the fragrance, like the ones I currently have) and should have it early next week. Will continue this experiment when I get my piddies on it Big Grin

Ah, I'd been playing with violet leaf, till the pure alpha and beta inonoe came in. You're right that violet leaf doesn't have alpha and beta ionone, apparently. I'm not sure what it does have, but I've been liking it as an addition to mixes.
