I think we need a place on the site that is non-blog, non-forum. I'm thinking that a few web pages could be set up to showcase our collective knowledge of mones for the newbies. And get us something very pictoral/visual for people to see. I think we could come up with a page for each of the known Pheromone molecules, and maybe some pages for other helpful and insightful stuff.
example:
Molecules Main Page:
-Androstadienone Page (could contain links to really good posts about this molecule, what it is an ingredient of, long chemical name, picture)
-None page
-Alpha Androstenol Page
...and it would go on.

Acronym Page (explain our language, Androstadienone , none is not 0)

Math page (explain how many of what will make a mix resulting in how many mcg of each per spray)

Diffusion page (explain how mones evaporate, how close you need to be, humidity, temperature effects)

History Page (Telling about how the 'mones forums got started, the OG's (original mones gangsters) and how every bans everyone else from forums.)

JVK Page (for a long line of all the links to articles he posts that don't really do anything for average mones usage.)

Product page (where all products in the industry, past and present, have a museum page where members can give a 1-10 ranking to each product for different uses. EXAMPLE: AD's P199 gets an 5 for social, a 7 for sexual, and a 3 for self-effects. Also noting what to mix or not mix it with.)

We could donate web design labor to get it started, and it could be tweaked going forward, but with more of a polished presentation look than just the blog details info.

This seems like a really good idea to me however with me being not very forum computer literate i will request some guidance on the subject from my superior officer the Commodore Pago.

I feel very thankful for your desire to make the forum a better place you are another that i recon is a good bloke cheers . . . TAB . . . .

I completely agree with all of this! It would be extremely helpful for new users.

Nobody is stopping anyone from putting it together! Do a good job with it and I'm sure it will be stickied.

One hundo agree with this. And to separate it from the forum (so as to not show a supposed bias), it could easily be set up as a wordpress page that is linked to from here somewhere. It would help us n00bs (and in turn, the vendors) a poop load.

There's been some great idea thrown out here, and I agree that a Knowledge Base would be a great addition to the forum.

But, building it would require a lot of work, and you guys seem to be forgetting that PheroTruth is not a business, and none of the admins are paid for the time and effort they put into the forum.

It's fine to bounce around ideas and talk about how great this or that would be, but the bottom line is that if it's to difficuct, time consuming or costly, it can't be done, or at least cannot be done by PheroTruth or those running it.

Forums like PheroTalk, Love-Scent or True Pheromones are backed by commercial companies that stand to increase sales by adding or building upon their forums and can justify the cost of doing so.

We can't. Therefore we are limited to what we can and cannot do, and I'm sorry to say, but I don't see this as something that we could quickly or easily build, and it wouldn't be fair to ask anybody to put forth the time and effort to do it for free.

All the ideas shared are really good ..

and would there not be the problem that everybody wants a database ... but that it´s very unlikely that somebody would work hundreds of hours on such a database ..

it don´t see it realized in the near future ... Sad

If there´s somebody who has employees .. that will be sold by sales ... then it´s very much likely that he will order them to work on something like a database ..

Pago

Too many mones .. too many options .. but fun fun fun ..

Couldn't all this be solved by members of the forum?

Say we start a few topics, one asking what advice the user would give themselves if they were just starting, another to ask them to talk about a specific molecule.

We ask people to thank the posts that they like, take those and incorporate them into a wiki page. It can start out simple and basic enough but as people begin to edit it I think it could take shape into what we are all talking about. In a similar fashion to wikipedia or any of the other wiki subgroups, hell if we dont want to set up our own, we could always use wikia. I believe that people, maybe not all, but enough, would want to share their knowledge for the good of the community.

In my view, I think the only burden that should be placed on the admins here would be setting up the back end of the wiki so that it is useable. (not sure what is completely involved with that, but I have seen similar sized communities that I am a member of do something similar) Then giving us another subthread to discus the wiki and changes. In the community I talked about above people have written pages of tear down guides with photos, discussions of techniques tactics and tips for what I am assuming is just a shear love of the community. That forum is independent as well.

I think it would be a bit slow going at first and may not begin as grand as all the ideas here, but given a bit of time we could have something truly great.

RE: What about a knowledge base?

I think it can be easier than that.
I think we can do it for free, I will donate some time. I'm sure after looking at others amount of time spent on this site, (in the months range) that we are all trying to tie up our own loose ends about molecules and mixes, and by contributing to the creation of these pages, we could put more effort in the forward (hunting) direction, and less into the collecting/sifting (gathering) direction.

I am not saying it will be fast, but I think that the site will attract more newbies if we have info to offer. Not saying that our info isn't already here. But if we could offer it in a crisp clean systematic way, it could be MORE OFFERABLE.

There is no doubt in my mind that this is alot of work, but what are we working toward? We want others to tell us how mone's worked for them. In an unbiased forum, where they won't be censored by the parent company. Well, we have an opportunity to do that, and by making the mentioned knowledge base, we are in fact building towards our goal. Giving info that will get more input. And we can all learn from the influx of posts/threads that will happen because of this.

Until of course, Mark-in-dallas becomes Mark-in-corporate by selling the website. But till then, we can be unbiased and uncensoring.

I will see if I can put a page together and show you what i'm thinking.

Considering that in the last year I've had 2 offers to buy the forum and a third for an exclusive affiliate offer, with 2 of the 3 being pretty good offers but turned them all down, that's not really much of a concern is it?

Unless of course somebody dangled a couple milllion dollars in front of me, then I'm heading for that remote island in a new yacht. Big Grin But, considering that bubble burst a long time ago I don't think that's likely to happen either.
