Hey Guys,
I am testing a single molecule and I need serious math help. Math like this makes my head spin but I know you guys know your stuff here.
My molecule comes in a 1 fl oz bottle and has 2000 MG's per bottle.
It has a bulb dropper top. I did work out that there are about 590 drops in 1 fl oz.
The questions are how many drops of this molecule would I need to make a 5mcg per spray using a 5ml bottle? and how much for 25mcg per spray.
It may be simple math to some but for me...it really makes my head spin.
Thanks for the help!
Im assuming a lot here.
Im assuming you mean 2000 mcg per bottle not 2000 mg.
You mentioned 590 drops so thats 3.38 mcg per drop.
Your target is 5 mcg per spray. Again im assuming 40 sprays in a 5 ml.
Thats 200 mcg per 5 ml.
It would be simpler to use mcg per ml.
1 oz is basically 30 ml.
2000mcg/30 ml = 66.67 mcg/ml
3 ml is 200 mcg. Take 3 ml of that. Add 2 ml of perfumers alcohol.
200mcg/40 sprays is 5 mcg per spray.
However if im assuming correctly you do not have enough concentration for a 5 ml at 25 mcg per spray. 66.67 mcg p ml x 5 ml gives 333 total mcg in 5 ml. That works out to about 8 mcg per spray.
But if youre really doing 2000 mg then thats a different story.

Yes, I am really doing 2000 mg. That's 2,000,000 mcg's right?
Thank you so much for the math help!
Np. At those numbers assuming your drops are accurate 1 drop would be 3389 mcg. I would add that to 30 ml of perfumers alcohol.
3389/30 would be 112 mcg per ml. So about 2 ml in a 5 would be a little over 5 mcg spray.
I would do 9 drops in a 30 ml filled with pa.
That would bring it very close to 1000 mcg /ml which is what you want in a 5 ml with 40 sprays. 1 ml of that and 4 ml of pa.
This is all assuming its 590 drops. Ideally you tested with perfumers alcohol.

Holy Cow! Thanks so much. Your numbers helped me. I was so confused as to what to divide by what. My brain just said to me "No Pheromone math".
I see why you would put it in a 30 ML bottle. It's because 1 drop in a 5ml bottle would yield 677 mcg's per spray. Right?
Thanks paradigmshift...gave you rep+
For anyone else who needs it you can use this post or NBully's calculator which can be found here:

Lol np. With the amount you have you really need to dilute it.
You are correct. If you put 8 drops in a 5 ml of pa youd have 667 mcg per spray. Lol.
