I thought this was interesting. The sulfated androgens seemed to be more effective in some ways than the non-sulfated variety, particularly DHEAS. Perhaps it's because they remain unbound and are converted into other molecules down the cascade more readily.
Rats express a reasonable amount of SHBG in their olfactory areas and VMO, IIRC. So this should be relevant if humans are similar.
