Hey guys,

I was looking to buy some DPG for mixing purposes (perfumes and pheromones), but I could not find a supplier close by except for this one:

Dipropyleenglycol 99+%
http://www.hinmeijer.nl/product/137209/D...l_99_.aspx

Now this stuff seems to be in powder form and the smallest amount you can buy is 1kg.

So how much of this powder would I have to add to mixes as a fixative?
How much is typically used by the perfume industry?
What would the alcohol/Dipropyleen glycol ratio be to make a DPG solution that can be used for perfumes/pheromones?

Cheers,

Buzzy
I live in Scandinavia.

Perfumer's Apprentice is located in USA but my 4 oz arrived fast, relatively cheap too.
I use DPG to make my New Pheromone Additive OIL and similar stuff.
Thanks for sharing the info there 20 franc. Very interesting website! I'm just wondering since i can buy the 1kg of dpg (powder) how much liquid dpg that would be if I mix it up myself. Also the supplier I was looking at is located in a neighboring country, so no customs guaranteed!

I don't really know what you would mix the powder with to get the DPG oil, it would surprise me if it was water..
You will have to check this out before you buy. I never heard of it in powder form.

Anyway, here most things pass easily through customs/VAT if it less than US$ 30.

DPG is great stuff to work with, I only add the alcohol based phero concentrate. So my oils are mainly DPG. I've never mixed it with silicone stuff or water based stuff as I think this means trouble.
