Sauvage by Christian Dior - dsouza - 09-05-2015 2:40 PM With depp's face marketing 2015 sept release I went out and got a sample of savauge I happened to be wearing am in l&s and thought wtf I'll cover it. Be warned a 55 year old menopausal woman opened me and acted like she wanted to rape me lol Turns out savauge has hedione in it!!! Did I just fuck up my am app lol!!! Do not buy this H SAVAUGE unless you want grannies to rape you.. Usually women over 45 don't even look at me with am on now this!!! Dsouza RE: Sauvage by Christian Dior - Ekscentra - 09-05-2015 2:48 PM You didn't know Sauvage had Hedione in it? That's probably the most well-known Hedione-containing fragrance there is - pretty surprising. Most designer fragrances will contain some amount of Hedione in them. Go niche if you want to avoid this. RE: Sauvage by Christian Dior - dsouza - 09-05-2015 2:50 PM I know now lol RE: Sauvage by Christian Dior - dsouza - 09-05-2015 2:59 PM Ekscentra What's your fav cover for l&s? RE: Sauvage by Christian Dior - Ekscentra - 09-05-2015 3:36 PM (09-05-2015 2:59 PM)dsouza Wrote: Ekscentra I don't use AD products, and am not familiar with L&S, so I can't help you there. RE: Sauvage by Christian Dior - raikahoken - 01-28-2016 12:05 AM Any more new experiences using Sauvage as a mone cover? I'm interested in getting it and using it for cover since it has epic longevity and projection on my skin. Like, seriously monstrous. Does the Hedione interfere with your mone apps? RE: Sauvage by Christian Dior - ShadowX114 - 01-28-2016 12:21 AM Just a FYI for anyone reading this. dsouza is talking about the new Sauvage (black bottle), not the old "eau sauvage". I smelled a couple of months ago and I liked it. It was strong so maybe a good mone cover. RE: Sauvage by Christian Dior - raikahoken - 01-28-2016 12:32 AM Yeah I'm also talking about the new Sauvage released last year. I'm just wondering if the Hedione changes the effects of the mones in any way when used as a cover. RE: Sauvage by Christian Dior - GoergeFocky - 01-28-2016 4:15 AM I've seen analysis charts from both Sauvage and Aventus. Lots of Hedione, Iso E and an overload ofAmbroxan in both, nearly the same amounts. The same goes for the heaviest fixative/musk, which is ambrettolide in both. A poor man's Aventus if you will (or better, a less rich man's). The original Eau Sauvage from way back was one of or the first fragrances to use heavy duty hedione and was reported to be an infamous lady-slayer back then. RE: Sauvage by Christian Dior - Spars - 01-28-2016 5:01 AM I sampled this and at first, I liked it. It didn't seem to kee the scent and changed too much for me at dry down. RE: Sauvage by Christian Dior - raikahoken - 01-28-2016 9:59 AM Anyone tried using it as cover? RE: Sauvage by Christian Dior - dsouza - 01-28-2016 10:28 AM I like this Sauvage 2015 a lot but don't know if the H kills it or makes It with women. With Sauvage I got complimented the first day I wore it out.. like I mentioned.. An older 55 y,o granny felt the need to tell me she was basically intoxicated by my smell even though I was sitting down alone with my SO having a meal. Hmmm.. I was covering Am with Sauvage that day and noticed it was rather too social and impotent. I have worn Aventus 20 times or so been only complimented once, and that too was by a guy. A woman has never complimented me on aventus.... RE: Sauvage by Christian Dior - NP17 - 01-28-2016 1:38 PM Hedione is a bit controversial, but Chris from AD took all the hedione out of his products and refunded his customers. I think it's considered a bad thing by most pheromone enthusiasts at this point. So what's a good eau de parfum with good projection, last a really long time, and doesn't contain any hedione? RE: Sauvage by Christian Dior - GoergeFocky - 01-28-2016 2:11 PM Hedione is one of the few scientifically proven substances with sex-differenciated pheromonal activity. I I repeat myself, it's most likely not the MOA of hedione that interfered with Chris' stuff, but it's somewhat curious properties as both a diffusion and sillage enhancer and a fixative. It messed up how the mones diffused or stayed on the skin and was way too much in proportion to them. So much male perfumes use it, since decades. It's very likely attractive to females, surely not reppeling or betafying or some such thing. It is mostly used as a defining component in floral(jasmine/magnolia), tea, citiric, aquatic and some herbal/aromatic aspects of perfume notes, in that order/quantity. A very woody/aromatic fragance without floral notes could be free of it. I I know that some people consider hedione to be "EST-like" but I don't know why, so I'll leave it at that. Your claims seem to have more evidence behind them as the hedione-containing fragrances are considered "ladykillers" and have been for a long time. If it changes diffusion, would it be bad used as a cover? Anyone have any experience with hedione-containing scents used as a cover? I'm looking for a better cover for my Kane gel. It's unscented, loaded with Androstenone, and super long-lasting. I'm getting grief from None-smellers, and I want something that will cover it for at least 12 hours. Preferably 16-24 hours which is a much better estimate of Kane's duration. If I mix in some eau de toilette directly with the gel, instead of just spraying it over, it helps a lot, but I'm also considering getting a longer lasting cologne to use as a cover. If I did get something, I'd want it to not only last long but improve the projection instead of hampering it. The problem with this is that who knows how hedione affects the diffusion of the new gels??? RE: Sauvage by Christian Dior - GoergeFocky - 01-28-2016 2:41 PM EST-like is a completely unbased claim. The studies suggest the contrary in fact. It activates female brain regions much stronger than male's. EST would be vice versa. This weekend we are manufacturing fresh batches of Alfa Maschio, LIIK version 1 and 2, Certo, and L’uomo Amore. All of the men’s products will be Hedione free guaranteed by 7/13/2015, the rest of our products for women and our unisex formulas that we currently have in inventory will sell out, since we have not received negative feedback with these products containing Hedione. After the limited supply remaining of Women’s products, Glace, and Corporativo have sold out, the next batches made will be Hedione-free. Chris only received negative reports from men's formulas containing hedione. http://pherotruth.com/Thread-Alpha-Dream-New-Improved-pheromone-products-now-with-Hedione Quote:The study (click to read) concludes that this compound, which is a chemically modified isolate of the Jasmine Plant, activates the human pheromone receptor through the same mechanism that androstadienone or estratetraenol exert their effects. RE: Sauvage by Christian Dior - NP17 - 01-28-2016 3:11 PM Maybe I'm misinterpreting the explanation. Maybe "mechanism that androstadienone or estratetraenol exert their effects" is just shorthand for "pheromone." Anyone read German? http://www.aromatisches-blog.de/2009/03/26/hedione/ RE: Sauvage by Christian Dior - GoergeFocky - 01-28-2016 4:13 PM (01-28-2016 3:11 PM)NP17 Wrote: Maybe I'm misinterpreting the explanation. Anyone read German? http://www.aromatisches-blog.de/2009/03/26/hedione/ Me, being german ;) The blog entry does not tell anything about hedione and it' mone-properties. And yes, Androstadienone and EST use the same mechanism/bind to the same receptor as hedione - that's all what it says and does not mean they exhibit the same effects. Again, I'm sure the bad reports were due to kinetic/physical and quantitive reasons rather than pheromonal. Chris would not have used hedione in the first place if he doubted the promising pheromonal effects for attract-female blends. And I remember some not too bad reports about in the Hedione/Alpha Dreams thread .... But forget about the EST bollocks. Dr.Notsostrangelove, one of the most skilled posters here, described how the shape and weight of the hed-molecule suggested effects similar to -none and -dienone on the receptors. RE: Sauvage by Christian Dior - NP17 - 01-28-2016 4:44 PM Well you seem pretty confident but you're not the only one
RE: Sauvage by Christian Dior - raikahoken - 01-28-2016 7:49 PM Nice discussion we have here! Theory might be all well and good, but how about in practice? In practice, AD's hedione enhanced formulas flopped big time. I have no doubt there have been many fragrances that contain hedione have been ladykillers, but those guys weren't using pheromones as well were they? Used with pheromones, the effects haven't been good, as in the case of AD and also dsouza's experience covering AM with Sauvage. Anybody else has covered mones with hedione-heavy colognes? Please share!! NP17, what cologne do you use to cover Kane? RE: Sauvage by Christian Dior - GoergeFocky - 01-29-2016 2:46 AM (01-28-2016 4:44 PM)NP17 Wrote: Well you seem pretty confident but you're not the only one Looks like it. It's because I have some additional insights in how the receptor-activation caused by hed are translated in psychological effects on women (by contacting the research group, but since the results are unpublished yet, I will not tell any details here, they have understandibly not provided much anyway - one thing I can say is that Dr.NSSL's hunch was very inspired) and by speaking with an actual industry perfumer about what their lot thinks about Hedione and the recent revelations on it. I stand to my thesis on why hedione did not work so well in a tried and true phero-blend with established mone-ratios. Even one drop of hedione into a bottle could represent and overdose/overbuffering). And I prefer "theroretical" anytime when it is confounded by high-quality research, over anecdotal reports by guys who are obviously preoccupied with anything "ESTish" (bad, catabolic, blah blah, but any dubious supplement on the market that might lower cortiosol/raise test/influences endocrine status is allright) - even more so when a connection between EST and Hedione is indicated nowhere, it's pure fantasy. I'm also not one to belive the "EST won't get you laid/makes you a woman" claim anyway. I've worn EST a few times in singe digit-ranges and over 50mcg and it did not effiminate me in interaction with men or women and it did not barred me from sexual intercourse. To conclude my point: I will still use hedione-containing fragrances confidently in conjunction with phero-products or as a direct cover-scent but would not mix undiluted hedione into a phero-blend. There are many many reports about fragrance covered mone-applications over the years where users state to have had great success with it. The majority would have been fragrances with hedione. Aqua Vitae scented comes in a sort of AdG fragrance right? There will be hedione in it. Treasures offers a AdG-clone cover scent. There will be hedione in it. And I imagine LovePotion makes good use of hedione as well. RE: Sauvage by Christian Dior - NP17 - 01-29-2016 4:14 AM I use Ralph Lauren Polo Blue to cover Kane and get inconsistent results. I need to test this more, but blending the eau de toilette and gel seems to cover the None smell all day. I'm still undecided how it affects diffusion and respect hits. I think it may be a negative for that. As for hedione, I am still skeptical but ultimately undecided on using it in a cover. There are not only diffusion issues but also pheromone effects and interactions with other pheromones. You seem to know way more about the research, and at the risk of sounding like an idiot, I'll say that I don't so much trust studies that look at neural activation instead of subjective results for a variety of reasons. I think it may be a negative for that. I perfectly understand that point of view. And this is not supposed to be another "who the fu** is right" thread. We have posted different information on hedione and it is up to us monists what to make of it in our personal use. RE: Sauvage by Christian Dior - Snoopyace - 01-29-2016 7:45 AM All I can say is that I use H2000- read that H20-oh-oh- (which contains Hedione) from Love Potion to cover SXD-9 and I have consistently gotten good results that seemed to me to be at least as good as SXD-9 uncovered or with a non-hedione containing scent. RE: Sauvage by Christian Dior - raikahoken - 01-29-2016 7:52 AM Well I guess there's only one way to find out whether Sauvage works for my mones: try it out! Thanks for the discussion people, I'll report back once I've done some testing! RE: Sauvage by Christian Dior - lullijomazaa - 05-11-2016 6:52 PM Was wondering if Eau Savage Intense also has hedione in it ? Would appreciate input from you Cologne experts. RE: Sauvage by Christian Dior - raikahoken - 05-11-2016 8:08 PM After trying Sauvage many times, I decide that I'm not going to buy it. It's a strange fragrance. Its projection and longevity are seriously beastly. Sometimes too much tbh. It smells nice when you smell it from afar, but when you put your nose to the app point, it's really harsh and synthetic. I think it's a frag for work / socializing, not for dates / close encounter situation. And the few times I wore it to cover my mones, I don't see the mones's effect. Need more testing to be sure, but I'm not buying it. RE: Sauvage by Christian Dior - lullijomazaa - 05-12-2016 9:56 PM I heard a lot of the old classics were reformulated when new rules came out in 2012-2013. RE: Sauvage by Christian Dior - TurtlePowers - 09-20-2016 8:08 PM Anyone noticed that ysl la nuit and Bleu de Chanel are great for female compliments. Gourmands like ultra zest and pure malt also.
