Iphone/Android App - DGamer - 07-09-2012 2:04 AM Any chance we can make this happen? It'd be nice if there were an easier way to browse the forums on-the-go. RE: Iphone/Android App - mark-in-dallas - 07-09-2012 5:54 AM I can browse it using Abdroid just Fine and even reply and post threads, but hate actually trying to. RE: Iphone/Android App - xxx - 07-09-2012 6:00 AM Mark how about a mobile website like yahoo which fits the website on the small screen? RE: Iphone/Android App - mark-in-dallas - 07-09-2012 6:55 AM my 2 1/2 year old Android does size it to fit correctly, whether verical or horizontal, and so did the Iphone 4 that I saw it on. About 2 years ago I installed a plugin that was supposed to improve usablity on cell phones, but it screwed things up big time! RE: Iphone/Android App - 2Soon2Care - 07-09-2012 10:13 PM Taptu forum/rss reader on Android works ok but it just brings up the last posts in RSS format once the forum RSS links are copied/pasted into the app, gotta open a browser to read more than just the first few lines of the post. Flipboard would be great for this if the formatting were not so odd... RE: Iphone/Android App - as33156 - 07-09-2012 10:19 PM The website is fine on my iPhone 4s. 70% of my posts are made from it. As everyone has been saying, it works just fine. However, it's not ideal. I'm sure the pennypheromones site could be browsed just fine without a mobile version, yet there is one in the works. The whole idea is with a dedicated app or mobile version of the site, it would be much more convenient. The current one works, but I need to zoom in, pan around, or be really really precise on pushing buttons. I don't think it would be too much work as we could probably just use an existing mod/plugin. For example, http://mybbgm.com/ or tapatalk RE: Iphone/Android App - captain_alex - 07-10-2012 1:39 AM (07-09-2012 10:19 PM)as33156 Wrote: The website is fine on my iPhone 4s. 70% of my posts are made from it. Like this one /signed RE: Iphone/Android App - Riverwind - 07-23-2012 10:58 AM Let me second the request for making this forum work with Tapatalk! I can view the forum on my Galaxy Note, which is currently probably the biggest phone around. Still I do not consider using a mobile browser for viewing a forum much fun. The view is just designed for a different screen size and type of operation. Tapatalk costs the user less than 3 Euros and nothing for the forum owner. I already use it for other forums (mostly technical stuff though). The formatting and thus the readability is MUCH better than with the mobile browser. RE: Iphone/Android App - mark-in-dallas - 09-02-2012 7:55 AM Riverwind, I've now installed tapatalk. Let me know if it works properly, OK? RE: Iphone/Android App - 2Soon2Care - 09-02-2012 10:21 AM Just got Tapatalk on Google Play for USD $2.99 and... Pherotruth is not listed, got to see if there is a way to add manually, but it may be one of those where you have to register with the Tapatalk service to be accessible? RE: Iphone/Android App - 2Soon2Care - 09-02-2012 10:24 AM Aha - Mark did you do this last step at then install of install section? I don't doubt that you did but maybe it takes them a while to go through a queue of registrations to activate it... http://www.tapatalk.com/activate_tapatalk.php?plugin=mybb Looking for next step? List your forum in Tapatalk Network Add my forum to Tapatalk Network RE: Iphone/Android App - as33156 - 09-02-2012 10:25 AM Yeah I just got a message saying I could get a app for it RE: Iphone/Android App - lostlibra74 - 09-02-2012 10:26 AM Yeah, I bought the app and couldn't find pherotruth Yeah, I bought the app and couldn't find pherotruth RE: Iphone/Android App - xxx - 09-02-2012 11:53 AM I use Tapatalk alot. Can't find it too. RE: Iphone/Android App - Shelly B - 09-02-2012 12:05 PM I just installed Tapatalk but it's not seeing Pherotalk either...but it could well be a stupid user error... RE: Iphone/Android App - zerosix85 - 09-03-2012 10:01 PM I have tapatalk also and would be awesome to see it on there but I think the forum should be kept incognito. RE: Iphone/Android App - mark-in-dallas - 09-03-2012 10:14 PM It's already been installed on the forum and registered with tapatalk, but it may take them a couple of days to approve sites. RE: Iphone/Android App - Riverwind - 09-08-2012 7:48 PM The authentification seems to be taking longer than we had expected. I still can't find pherotruth with Tapatalk. Is there anyone else who can verify this? RE: Iphone/Android App - Riverwind - 09-08-2012 7:52 PM (09-03-2012 10:01 PM)zerosix85 Wrote: I have tapatalk also and would be awesome to see it on there but I think the forum should be kept incognito. What do you mean with that? It's ok to find the forum. You won't see any other names or other info about the people than you see when viewing the forum with a browser. Tapatalk does add a signature that you posted via Tapatalk - which is non-critical in my eyes. ;) RE: Iphone/Android App - 2Soon2Care - 09-08-2012 9:20 PM Nope I can't find it by searching for phero or pherotruth on tapatalk yet - yeesh they are slower than shipping! RE: Iphone/Android App - mark-in-dallas - 09-09-2012 6:39 AM I guess I could try registering the forum again, but no clue whether it'll help or not. RE: Iphone/Android App - Riverwind - 09-09-2012 9:46 AM Try that or write an eMail to the support and ask how long it usually takes. RE: Iphone/Android App - Glidarn - 09-14-2012 9:41 AM I cant find it either! Re: Iphone/Android App - xxx - 09-16-2012 2:22 AM It's working now. Thanks Mark! RE: Iphone/Android App - Riverwind - 09-16-2012 9:32 AM Have you tried Tapatalk before? Re: Iphone/Android App - zerosix85 - 09-16-2012 10:32 AM This is great! They have a really cool design, although the buttons are in a weird position. I kept on touching the area that actually lights up with the symbols - and that ist too high on the phone. People have told me that Sony's support really blows, meaning software-updates take forever - if they come at all. And since Sony devices aren't as common as Samsung or HTC (for example) the aftermarket firmwares are hard to get aswell. I took my Galaxy Note because of the large screen. I have an eye condition and the large screen really is a blessing for that. And i second that, their updates take forever, but i was able to find the stock firmware without much effort. Try XDA Developers forum. They have everything there! I had to buy one, they're so nicely designed! RE: Iphone/Android App - mark-in-dallas - 09-16-2012 5:45 PM (09-16-2012 5:07 PM)Fly So Hi Wrote: Me too. Only thing i did was to flash the new software (ICS). I don't know about the Xpperia, but it's pretty easy on most phones. And flashing ROM's is a cakewalk. And ICS is old news, Google has now released Jellybean, and there's already ports for a number of phones floating around. Although none seem to be really stable releases yet. I flashed one yesterday and it was far from ready for primetime. I would also suggest getting ROM Toolbox, ClockWorkMod ROM Manager and Titanium Backup from Google Play, if you don't have them. RE: Iphone/Android App - Fly So Hi - 09-17-2012 8:43 AM Thanks for the suggestions! I'll take a look at those programs. As for the Jellybean, I'd love to have it, but mine is an Xperia P, and Sony hasn't released (and probably will not release) JB for the Xperia 2012 family. Oh well... RE: Iphone/Android App - mark-in-dallas - 09-17-2012 9:14 AM And even if Sony did, its then up to your carrier to decide whether they want to update the phone, and Verizon is notorious for not porting over new android builds. But, XDA developers port builds for most of the popular phones.
RE: Iphone/Android App - Fly So Hi - 09-17-2012 9:32 AM Well, I was lucky to find a factory unlocked phone when i bought this one, so it is not linked to any carrier! The ROM i have in it is for Central Europe, so maybe, if someone decides to compile a JB for Xperias, i might be able to load it! RE: Iphone/Android App - shadowknight - 09-17-2012 9:13 PM xda forum is awesome the time i had gotten an atrix 4g i hard bricked that sucker and everywhere i read said it was dead forever but after lots of searching and then finding xda and reading and following several difficult steps (spend like close to 10 hrs doing everything) i was able to bring my phone back from the dead RE: Iphone/Android App - Riverwind - 09-18-2012 10:08 AM (09-16-2012 12:27 PM)mark-in-dallas Wrote: Nope, I'm fine using just the browser. I'm almost always on a desktop anyway. So am I. Typing on a phone sucks rocks anyways - especially if you are writing a longer text. Aside from that, I have to admit that I actually hate forums - not the people in or running them, but the technology, the view and most other things about the look and feel. From way back, I have always been a Usenet-buff. Really retro, I know. But for some reason, I never found any forum that could compare to the Usenet and a good newsreader (my personal favourite is slrn). The reader lets me choose what I want my stuff to look like, ranging from graphically rich to simple but fast text mode (as in vt-100, which is my favourite). When I visit my community I care about what the people have to say (or write) and not about the graphical crap around that. I don't mind pleasing looks, like graphic emoticons or avatars, but I'd be willing to sacrifice them for a fast, no-bull interface that I can navigate swiftly using only my keyboard. slrn offers that for the Usenet and I don't spend any real with time scrolling either while I use it. And "back then", people had threading. I know, sounds like Grandma's knitting, but it's not! This has been around for more than 25 years, probably much longer, but no forum actually uses it. If you're used to threading, you think you are back in the dark ages without it - especially if you compare the performance of slrn on an Intel 80486 with a "modern" forum on an AMD64.Tapatalk doesn't have threading, but many advantages over the Browser: It makes far better use of the room on the screen (which is kinda in short supply anyway), uses less resources than the browser, is faster and puts all you forums in one place. I hope you don't take this the wrong way!!! What makes a forum or newsgroup good are the people in it, not the interface! mark-in-dallas Wrote:I don't know about the Xpperia, but it's pretty easy on most phones. It's pretty cool! But it would still be cool. I don't know how Tapatalk does on iOS though. Personally, I think iOS is evil, but that's just me.
RE: Iphone/Android App - DGamer - 10-06-2012 12:59 AM I'm currently on iOS6 and tapatalk says the plugin is out of date Also says for the latest posts that "server has some issue with Tapatalk or your session is expired. If this problem persists, please re-enter this forum from Account tab." I reentered but it still fails. RE: Iphone/Android App - mark-in-dallas - 10-06-2012 6:18 AM I just checked and we have the latest version of the plugin, so it looks like its probably an iussue with the new Apple OS. RE: Iphone/Android App - Kahotep - 04-02-2013 5:48 AM I was using an iPhone forum app called "Tapatalk" Yetusing Safari browser is way better and gives me access as if I'm on my laptop. And besides, the foruum displays perfect in Google Chrrome!
