Alpha-Androsteerone tends to be an "alpha" molecule conveying social status but not physical threat. It diffuses slowly and typically needs to be mixed with one or more of the faster-diffusing ' buffering' molecules.
It causes women to be more likely to guard their mates, decreases conversation volume and is less likely to be averse to younger women (below 22 or so) or those who are uncomfortable with their sexuality as compared to androstenone or androstanone.
It tends to require a cover scent if used in significant quantities.
