I remember a 99 year old friend was dieing at home. I was helping to care for him while he was in bed in a coma for about two weeks and his room took on a distinctive scent. To this day, I can not wear Androstenone Pheromone Concentrate (a scent added, low powered ~none product used for its scent sold at Love-Scent) because the scents are so similar.

To stay young requires unceasing cultivation of the ability to unlearn old falsehoods.

Some evidence suggests that their is also a common smell of life (e.g., from insects to elephants).

And I believe we are all very attracted to certain floral scents for the same reason.

An excellent point! A colleague presented on a substance that she believed was important to spermatazoa in finding an ovum. I subsequently learned that the common name for it is also attributed to the odor of a particular flower, though I have not had time to follow-up on this--despite the potential for commercial application. It seem likely to me that the odor might be part of what men find pleasing about the natural odor of fertile women.
