Fragrance oils or cologne as cover scent

I wonder what would be the best used with oils or with alcohol based sprays. I have some of each, well a lot of one and a few of the other LOL. I know the fragrance oil will tend to last longer, but could mean slower diffusion which might be good with alcohol mone sprays, but not good with oil based. What are your thoughts?
