List of supposed active semiochimicals in human
07-22-2015 5:58 AM

I'm looking for a list of active semiochemicals in human being. I already collected a list of ~50 chemical name in this forum and some blogs, but it seems this list could be extended since there is apparently a lot of active components in natural setting.

Here my list :

Alpha-Androstenol (16, (5α)-ANDROSTEN-3α-OL)
Androst(Androstenone) (16, (5α)-ANDROSTEN-3-ONE)
Androst(Androstanone) (5α-ANDROSTAN-3-ONE
Beta-androstenol (Beta Androstenol) ( 16, (5α)-ANDROSTEN-3β-OL)
Androstadienone (DIENONE Androstadienone )
Androsterone
Estratetraenol (EST)
Beta-Androstranol (BANOL)
Epi-Androsterone (EPIRONE)
Androsterone-S
Pregnenolone (NENO)
DHEAS
DHEA
Allotetrahydrodesoxycorticosterone (ALLO-THDOC)
tetrahydrodesoxycorticosterone
Copulins
7-Keto-DHEA
1a-STERONE
4-androstenone
Androstenetrione (6 oxo)
Adrenosterone (11-OXO)
Methoxyestratetraenone (Methoxyestratetraenone )
Estratetraenol (EST)
Phenylethylamine ?
Dimethylamylamine ? (dmaa)
Cholecalciferol ? (d3)
Melatonin
GABA
Glycine ?
Aspartic acid ?
Glutamic acid ?
PEA hcl ?
Ergocalciferol (Vitamin D2)
Delta 2-androstenone (Delta-2-androst-17-one)
BETA-THDOC
Yohimbine Hypochloride
BIOCHANIN A 491-80-5
ergosterol
Stigmastanol 83-45-4
Stigmasterol 83-48-7
campesterol
β-Sitosterol 84-46-5
phytoestrogens from soy or wild
B-sitosterol
tongkat ali
cucumber seed extract
Magnolia extract
Glycyrrhizic acid
clary sage
Androstadienol (5-16-androstadien-3-ol)

Plant sterols could apparently be also ideal candidates.

I already ordered componants in order to make my own phero (like dhea and pregnenolone)

Feel free to add chemicals and sources of informations about it.

Btw, is there a way to detect which chemicals would be active without testing it ?

I think recreating a thread like this is an excellent idea, given that dbot is no longer around. I'd suggest taking a look at his thread (shouldn't be too hard to find) so as to refine this thread as best as possible.

I'd also suggest separating those with unconfirmed pheromonal activity and putting them in a section below.

Yes, Phenethylamine is arguably the most powerful pheromonal substance in existence.

GABA can't even cross the blood-brain barrier, and so would almost certainly be inactive as a pheromone.

Here are some additions to this list:

Oxytocin
Carbetocin
Pregnenolone Sulfate
Beta Androstadienol
Epiandrosterone Sulfate (P74?)
Androstenone Sulfate (TAC?)
Estratetraenone (P78?)
Androstanone Sulfate (P75?)
4-Androstenedione
4-Androstenediol
Beta Androstienol
Allopregnanolone
Epiallopregnanolone
Epitiostanol
Androstatrione
Methoxyestratetraenol (MeO-NOL)
Iso E Super
Timbersilk
Hedione
L-Phenylalanine
Damiana
4-Testosterone
Alpha Pregnadienol
Beta Pregnadienol
Blue Lotus (recently confirmed)
Fenugreek?
Epimedium?
Cholesterol?

Most psychedelics are likely strong in pheromonal activity, though listing them all would be excessive. Hopefully soon someone decides to try LSD as a pheromone, otherwise I'll gladly do so myself. I've noticed mild psychedelic effects simply from smelling psychedelics, giving some experiential basis to my theory.

I've hypothesized two things that may be of interest:

1. Any substance with a low enough molecular weight and some significant level of activity when administered intranasally will also work as a pheromone. If this is indeed true, then the list of potential pheromones is drastically bigger than we once expected.

2. The P9x series of Androtics, arguably some of the most powerful putatives in existence (though I'd put the P8x series right up there), are all closely related to Iso E Super. If we can discover this link, then this will drastically push forward our general awareness of named single molecules. I've noticed smells identical to IES in P90, P91, P93, and P96. Further testing will likely confirm the same scent in all of the P9x series.

I wiil probably avoid the psychedelic ones since it makes me unstable, especially psychodysleptic stuff like lsd.

But the following of the list is welcome. Thanks.

Where can we buy these stuff for a good price ? There is only a few of them on XS.

If we're going to list everything, then yes, Ambergris would be on that list. Probably my favorite pheromonal fragrance out there. In addition:

Civet
Vanilla
Deer Musk
Oud
Sandalwood
Castoreum
Lavender

And many, many more...the list is much too long for this thread. I think we should stick to single molecules, ultimately, to avoid causing too much clutter. An aromatherapy thread would be appropriate for the rest of these (including Iso E Super, Fenugreek, and Damiana).

It's also my opinion.

But is there a list of website where i can buy these molecules ? I'm ready to diluate it myself, even from dietary supplement.

Many of these molecules are only available from Steraloids and/or Sigma-Aldrich. In other words, you couldn't buy them without a license.

PheromoneXS, Androtics, Apex Pheromones, LAL, and True Pheromones all sell single molecules. Most of Androtics' molecules are coded, but I believe I at least know some of them. Namely:

P74 - Epiandrosterone Sulfate
P75 - Androstanone Sulfate
P76 - Pregnenolone
P77 - Pregnenolone Sulfate
P78 - Estratetraenone
P80 - Androstanone
P83 - Beta-THDOC
P86 - Androstenetrione (debatable)
P87 - Androstatrione
P102 - Epiallopregnanolone
P124 - Beta Androstadienol
P126 - Androstenedione
TAA - Androsterone Sulfate
TAC - Androstenone Sulfate

For 7-Keto DHEA, you can buy it in supplement form. Sadly, it appears no vendors offer it as yet. Androstatrione is no longer available anywhere (P87 has been OOS for years).

hum...
I see.

It seems to me that research purpose is a way to sell the molecules at a huge price.
By hiding the real name of the molecule behind a code name, there are able to keep their customers hooked to their shop and avoid the game of concurrence and DIY stuffs.
But in fact, no serious research can be performed in such conditions.

Pheromones have the potential to be used in numerous social applications, not only leisure/work/sexual enhancement uses.
The most obvious is therapy and social aspects mental health conditions treatments.
That could be a huge edge for treatment in social anxiety desorder, impaired social skills in schizophrenia and depression, systemic, cognitive-behavioral, family and couple therapy... And so on.

I have seen a company named Pherins has patented artificial Pheromones for such kind of conditions.
http://www.pherin.com/products.html
I'm pretty sure they just modified existing phero in order to be able to bill extremely huge prices for these medications in form of nasal spray active in dose as low as nanogram range.(1/1.000.000 mg).
Easy money : Cost probably nothing to produce at such of low dose and have extremely high profit margin once the research is done. They couldn't do that with natural phero.
That's the Pharma way.
But I would bet my left testicule these properties already exist in natural molecules with phero activities...
The only issue is to know wich ones.
But if you know the names of the scientific behind the company and look for their published works, there is a chance you'll find some indications.

Thanks octopupus, was not aware of that company. Will be interesting to look into their patents and studies
