Do any of you scientist types have data on race specific reactions to pheromones? I'm just curious?

I haven't noticed much myself, but I just finished reading the Mad Tater Journal over on the AD forum, and he has spent a lot of time thinking about and testing this issue. It's definitely worth a read.

I've seen on either this board or another that it seems Asians tend respond most to pheromones.

Interesting thought. but then it could also be a result of their associated culture, rather than biological makeup.

From the reports I've read, I'd say it's a bit more complicated than that. It seems that different genetic backgrounds may be prone to different levels of sensitivity to particular pheromones and pheromone combinations.

That was a hot tip, Pago. Tater has some great insights. I wonder what he's up to these days.

Yeah, not sure about that one. I seriously believe gentice make-up (which race is a predominant factor in) plays a MAJOR part in reatcions to pheromones. Wouldn't that make sense, after all pheromones are simply topically applied hormones, and your genetic make-up does play a factor in your response to certain hormones.

Some hormones can act as pheromones, but in general pheromones don't exert hormonal activity when used in the quantities we're using them and in the ways that we're using them. When pheromones diffuse and are inhaled, they act as neurosteroids which modulate specific types of neurotransmitter activity. Hormones, on the other hand, exert a direct effect on cell activity.
