Here's a nice little number I want to get my claws on. I've seen it during a few late night reading sessions and never really thought much about it. Now I have decided to put a bit more focus on it.

I came across this tidbit on my travels in the rabbit hole.

If found in the sweat glands it must have a fairly robust pathway to excretion.
It appears to be Androst-2-ene-17b-ol which was named 2-androstenol by the manufacturer (http://www.androcycle.com/3-ad-prohormone/)

It appears that this has been referenced as an "elephant pheromone" and was the molecular basis for a now illegal steroid implicated in the Balco scandal and Olympians failing doping tests :

This references the now-banned Desoxymethyltestosterone (Pheraplex, DMT, Madol) (17a-methyl-etioallocholan-2-ene-17b-ol also referenced as
17a-methyl-5a-androst-2-ene-17b-ol), and states that it is structurally similar to delta 2-Androstenol : http://www.androfactory.com/category-s/1879.htm

So are Androst-2-ene-17b-ol and delta 2-Androstenol the same thing? Very few references to Androst-2-ene-17b-ol so maybe it is a nomenclature issue?

So if it is an elephant/human pheromone I'd expect it to do something at least! Cook some up and see what it does? I wonder if a particular salt like a sulfate or chloride would fly off better and get to the receptors best?

Delta-2-androst-17-one is the stuff I bought recently from androgenetx.

And while it has been cooking I have been taking it orally as well. No real notable effects yet so I guess it needs a buildup in the system.

LOL Yeah its very murky. Plus I shook it up again before I snapped the pic. The color is the naringin flavonoids that I assume were in the product to enhance absorption. I dont see them making much difference as they are pretty much just pigmentation at this point.

100mg of delta 2 is dissolving in 9 ml of etoh. This is the new batch I just made bc the other one got knocked over by one of the animals and leaked. I had to hide this last batch in the cabinet bc the cat is all up on this product for some reason. Maybe it can smell the animal origin, idk. Hopefully females will replicate this reaction to it. LOL

This week when it settles I will extract it and add additional 21 ml making it 3.34 mg per ml. This will make it about 250 mcg per drop. Gonna put one drop in 1.5 ml, fix it at 10% and make 10.4 mcg per spray and see how that runs.

EDIT: had to correct from dissolving in 8 ml to 9 ml as I saw this when I put the label back on the bottle after its photoshoot.

Heh I hope it works out - elephant musth is a nasty gross thing but critical to their aggression phases when bulls fight over males - they piss all over their hind legs basically, I guess kinda similar to the way we slather ourselves in pheromones as far as effect goes. If the cat is picking up on it that is a great sign! I'd try down to a 2-3 mcg dilution and see if it has effect, it may be very powerful!

If you look close you can see the delta none crystals in the micronized flavonoids. At some point this week I am going to break open a few more caps and remove the larger none crystals with a pair of tweezers.

I have no way of measuring such a small amount of product that may net a few mere mgs. My scale does not go that far down so Im going to have to wing it and estimate. I will be sacrificing precision for purity in this next batch.
