Has anyone experienced headaches when wearing DHEAS?

For the last two days I've tested it at ~30mcg applied to my clothes (Alpha dream concentrate mixed with PA and perfume). Most noticeable effects are foggy vision (with colors brightened), feeling lightheaded, overall mood lifting & easier communication. There's probably more effects to it, I haven't pinned everything down yet.

But today I started to get headaches. Not too bad ones, every time it's only few seconds of pain in my forehead area, and then it stops. Just curious if I should attribute it to DHEAS or keep looking for other possible causes.

For most mones, the first culprit for headaches is typically impurities in a synthesis rather than the synthesis itself. I've taken a few commercially available molecules and used them as mones, and you typically need to get above the 1mg mark or so before getting headaches. If you get them at all.

Of course, it's still possible that some mones are the problem. Chris said his dienone was unusually pure, but I still don't do well with over 50mcg of the stuff (and I can't smell mones.)

DHEAS has some unusual issues attached to it. It can cause skin irritation at high doses, for instance. So I wouldn't be totally surprised if it caused issues for you. Personally, I think it's a good idea to avoid skin contact with DHEAS esp. given the relatively high quantities of the stuff people are likely to use. Though there have been a few posters who have used high doses of Alpha Dream DHEAS (not on their skin) and not had issues, so far as I know. Shelly did a lot of testing in this regard, among others. ... No idea if yours is a different batch, from what she bought. How stuff is synthesized seems to matter in terms of effect, though I don't know exactly what contaminants or residuals are at issue there.

I hope this helps. Or at least provides for a more informed state of confusion. ;-) For starters, let us know if not touching the stuff impacts your reaction.

And consider doing a test without the perfume. DHEAS doesn't seem like one of the more offensive molecules out there in terms of smell. People can correct me if I'm wrong here, of course, I can't smell the stuff at all. But you won't get the bad reactions from it that you will with Androstenone.

Thank you, wiserd! Many great points in your post, I'll keep testing it to know for sure. I believe that if impurities caused this I'd most likely start having headaches after first opening the bottle, not after 2 days of use.

Perfume that I used for this is Anthea from LPMP that I have worn without mones and it did not cause me headaches. It was due to my laziness that I did not make unscented mix for DHEAS. I only measured how much was left of my 30%Anthea-70%PA dilution in togo bottle, and added DHEAS to 15mcg/spray.
I'll make pure unscented PA-DPG base to test DHEAS that way too, and in lower dose per spray.

Considering that applying to clothes generally weakens mone diffusion on me quite significantly, 5-15 mcg should be enough to get same effects when used on skin. I'll see if it makes any difference. I remember using Alpha Dream blends on skin and not having any noticeable effects on my health. Don't know how much of DHEAS Chris actually uses in his blends though.

As a pheromone DHEAS is quite interesting, so hopefully I'll be able to use it without those side effects Smile

Hmm, well, here's an idea; the sulfate group on the DHEAS is moderately unstable. DHEAS without the sulfate group should just convert to DHEA which shouldn't be an issue at all. But I'm not sure what that loose sulfate group might do, either by itself or maybe reacted with your perfume.

15mcg applied to skin gives less headaches in both perfumed and plain PA-DPG forms, compared to what 30 mcg to clothes does. 1-2 hours after the application I start getting unpleasant feelings somewhere at my forehead. I'll test next if lowering the dosage further would help to entirely eliminate those side effects. And I did not notice any other effects on my health or skin yet.

Otherwise DHEAS works at 15mcg just as well as at 30mcg to clothes. I mostly detect effect strength by my vision going slightly blurry, but positive atmosphere and other social effects I listed previously do also directly correlate with that.

... so maybe the issue is some lighter contaminant which diffuses much more readily than the DHEAS? If that's the issue, then applying to clothes and allowing those clothes to dry down somewhere else might get rid of most of the contaminant.

It does also make me wonder, again, if your DHEAS might have broken down to some extent and lost it's sulfate group, either from the perfume or exposure to heat. I'm not sure the best way to test for that...

Do you notice any changes to highly color-saturated lights at night? Like neon lights? That's the quickest way for me to notice visual brightening.

Not sure about that, it's been a while since I was out at night. Technically polar day is now over, but it's only dark for few hours at night when I sleep. I generally notice brightening better with certain colors. Objects that are initially bright blue or orange become too bright and uncomfortable to look at.
