Sex and sleep

Its often been said you need quality sleep for a good sex life. A good 7-9 hrs a night for most people.

In todays society many don't get enough sleep.. if you're older it's even more of a crutch.

Question: if you can't get 7-9 hrs of sleep at night for good sex life, can getting 5-6 hrs at night and 1-2 hrs in the daytime still help your overall hormonal profile and libido ? Or will the hormonal profile only change positively if the sleep occurs at nighttime at one stretch?

I'm no scientist but I would lean towards the option of getting a longer nights sleep would be better. That way you have longer REM sleep. However, I would definitely say that napping during the day helps. Sleep in general replenishes your body and gives your body a chance to heal. For that reason I would say napping would do just fine. Perhaps look into some supplements as well to increase libido like Maca Root or Suma Root.

If the daytime nap helps your energy levels then go for it.
I had a hectic scedule during atumn and as soon as x-mas break started I was like, wtf, where does all this performance come from Big Grin As many say, sex isn't high on priority list for survival, if you're stressed and have bad sleep the sex will be poor. Suma root sounds interresting!

The natural (default) sleep cycle includes a siesta. Modern american life is a little unnatural. consistency is an issue. shift workers changing shifts are hella stressed.
