I just ordered these and should be here this week:

Sandlewood oil & Vetiver oil

Ambergris white gold

Ambergris al oud. I have an empty vile of this that came when I ordered their p-4. Its divine. Not sure if the empty vile was for legal purposes or a sales tactic but it worked.

The plan is to source sandalwood from here. This is the only sustainable source of Santalum album in the world right now:

http://www.tfsltd.com.au/products/oil/

Ambergris will be sourced through Scentsual Antiquities. While their website is not currently in operation, I'm in contact with the owner and can make any orders directly through him.

Most other ingredients will be sourced through La Via Del Profumo. Oud will be sourced through Feel Oud, Agar Aura, Rising Phoenix, or Ensar Oud, if and only if I get the green light from them.

I'm impressed that you are using genuine precious EO. I typically only order unscented oils because A) I'm sensitive to artificial scents and B) I make my own covers with similar ingredients. Can't wait.

I have no plans of cutting corners with this. Arguably the most revered version of A314, Royal Oil used a number of real essential oils in their blends. It would be impossible to replicate the complex effects of natural EOs using their synthetic counterparts. The allergen issue was another major consideration of mine.

However, I'm not just using real ambergris. I'm using the best I could source on the open market. The same goes for the other ingredients. I'm not stopping at natural. The gap between the best and worst examples of naturals can be nearly as large as that between naturals and synthetics. The fact that something is natural doesn't always equate to high-quality.

Thank you Ek.

Is that sandalwood only for bulk orders? My girl says that Doterras are super high quality and should last me awhile. Tried them? My goal is to buy the highest quality ingredients for my own sprays. Same with Ambergris. Have you tried a few different ones? This will be my first straight ambergris purchase.

La Via Del Profumo looks baaadd!

Awesome man. Me too. Post any results on this forum's section. I'm flying mostly in the dark on this one. Would love any inputs from those that can't stand the synthetic scents.

What does this mean? Is what I ordered not "real"?

Not at all - real ambergris just isn't something you see too often in the world of commercial pheromones. Yours is most probably real, but not an absolute. I only know of one person selling an absolute of ambergris - this is the supplier I'll be using. Absolutes tend to have a more dense, complex smell compared to essential oils.

I believe they take smaller orders. A bulk order would be worthwhile in my case, however. We'll see. Right now, I'm waiting to hear back from DrSmellThis. Depending on how things go from there, I'll contact them to find out more.

Doterra sells some great products. Perhaps not the best on the market, but I see no reason not to be happy with the level of quality. I've no doubt their sandalwood is authentic, though it may not be sustainable.

I haven't had the chance to sample many examples of ambergris. The general consensus seems to be that Profumo's and Scentsual Antiquities' are the best.

I'm really interested in this mix but wondering what the price point is going to end up being.

A314 at 10ml and $109.95 essentially made me say "no" even if the new revisions had been decent. The $69.95 it was selling for @ a314.com was a reasonable price for me, though.

Intense.

I'm afraid I don't have the answer to that yet. If it can be done, I'd like to keep the price under $8/mL. A314 was $59.95 at some point - even with the use of a simple, high-quality scent package, I think I can achieve my goal to keep the price down.

Of course, until I hear back from a supplier (Stone Labs being at the top of my list), this is no more than guesswork. The price of A314 seemed heavily inflated for what it was - I don't expect my own pricing to approach that point.
