Hmm..was just thinking in the shower. While I was in France for the Euro Cup, I bought Bois du Portugal. Guess who is in the Finals today?

France vs Portugal

Interesting. And I went to the France vs Ireland match in Lyon. What did I wear to that game? Naturally Green Irish Tweed. France won 2-1.

So while watching the Final today I will of course wear Bois du Portugal. Does this mean France will win again? No. But France will win again because they are deeper, loaded and playing in front of their home country.

Vive La France!

Very helpful. I stated that I like the Armaf version (CDNI) of Aventus better than Aventus itself. I mean that. I am very glad to hear you say that you like the Derby Club House Blanche better than SMW! I am fond of SMW and have high hopes for it. I am going to get some now that I hear you say this. Because I believe it.

I don't know if you've smelled Bois du Portugal, but man it smells good, and distinct. It is right up there with Aventus in my opinion. I would love to hear the comparison to the Derby Club House from Armaf.

I had gotten my CDNI from Lily Direct and it was like $32. It appears now that all their Armafs are selling for around $70. Any advice where to still get Armafs in the $30 range?

Hi, thanks!
This will likely not help you much, since I got the Armafs from a retailer in Germany, where I'm located - roughly around 30€ each.
PM me if you'd like the weblink nontheless.

EDIT: Lot of ~30$ sellers on US ebay!

Has anyone noticed strong similarities between karo karounde and copulins? Both have this overripe fruit thing going on. I need to be getting a full bottle of Timbuktu anyday now. Next paycheck will go towards a decant of Aventus (as reference for my own scent project), so that'll have to wait.
Amouage Lyric man! Recently got a decant.. Very pleasant rose scent!

Ak4d4,

Where have you gone!?

I miss your pile of smells. Your friggin thread here has gotten me into fragrances. Not quite like you, BUT I've sampled a LOT from TFS without a major investment. Now I'm getting drawn in on basenotes forums and fragrantica. I have not posted or created an account, but spend a lot of time looking at reviews.

I think I saw somewhere that you have bought from splits to save. Boy I'll tell you, I have been looking at La Yuqawam Homme from Rasasi reviews and it is supposed to be very close to Tuscan Leather which I definitely like. I found it on a site called Notino for $80 for a 2.5 oz bottle. Well I searched a little more and found a guy on basenotes who does splits. You can get the Real Tuscan Leather from him (Mountainbikesandwatches) for $63 for 50ml. It's $230 for 50ml from Tom Ford!!

Anyway, 50ml is 1.7oz for $63 of the Real. Or $80 for 2.5oz of a very close high quality.

The other of note are the Creeds. He's got a ton of them including Aventus (like four different batches). How much?...
30ml for $45. Creed wants $230
50ml for $60. Creed = $315
100ml for $115. Creed = $425 This was the least expensive per ml from this guy.

And Snoopyace, I know you're reading this, he has all the popular Creeds including...Bois du Portugal at the same price.

So if TFS oil doesn't do the trick, the real deal isn't all that bad. I bought a 75 ml 2.5oz from a Creed store in Paris a few blocks off the Champs Elysees for about $160. Can get a 100ml 3.4oz for $115 - um, done deal.

This all just blows me away. Splits are the way to go. These guys buy big quantities at lower costs, split 'em up and make some money while saving a lot of people a lot of money for top dollar scents.
My $.02
